Teddy Bear Drive

Each year, the South and Central Health Foundation partners with the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts hockey team to collect stuffed animals for children in need of a cuddle at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre.

We collect teddies throughout the week leading up to the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts mid-season hockey game in January at our regional hospital as well as other healthcare facilities within the south and central region.

On the night of the game, we encourage all Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts fans to bring their teddy bear donations with them and present them to our foundation before they take their seats and cheer on their home team!

In 2026, our foundation collected over 300 stuffed animals that were distributed between the Obstetrics, Pediatric, and Day Surgery departments at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre.

We hope these teddies bring joy and comfort to children visiting our regional hospital

Our foundation is always available to receive a donation of teddy bears. If you or your workplace would like to host your own teddy bear drive on behalf of our foundation, please contact our Community Development Officer Jenna Budgell by emailing jennal.budgell@nlhealthservices.ca or by calling (709) 292-2623
