We are pleased to announce another successful charity golf tournament!  Over $26,000 was raised during the annual fundraiser held on Thursday, August 14th at the Grand Falls Golf Club thanks to our amazing sponsors, donors, golf participants, volunteers!

Special thanks to our Corporate Sponsors: Aramark, Labatt, and Equinox Gold

Thank you Belairdirect (formerly Johnson Insurance) for sponsoring our Hole in One contest.  Thanks to David Baker of Labatt for the many additional things he did to make our tournament a success – a Taste Test Hole, providing the first, second, third and losing team prizes and for providing a free product to each golfer on golf day!

We had a 29 teams registered for our event.  Thank you to our Team Sponsors: Aramark, Artlin Safety & Industrial, Barry Group Inc., Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), Belairdirect, Bell Aliant, Benger's Automotive, Canadian Medical, The Car Spa, Central Meats, Central Orthodontics, Close Enough, Crosbie Engineering, Doane Grant Thornton, Dr. R. (CNRHC), Riverview Motors Ltd., Sheridan's Sharp Shooters, Springdale Lions Club, Steele Hyundai, Teck Resources Ltd., Town of Grand Falls-Windsor, Trane, and Western Star Trucks.

Thank you to the businesses who supported our event as a Hole Sponsor: Airport Mazda, ALL-TECH Environmental Services Ltd., Babb Lock & Safe Co. Ltd., Belairdirect, Bluebird Investments Ltd., Cartwright Medical Clinic, Central Dental Group, Crane-Tec Services Inc., Dawe's Mechanical Ltd., Dooley's Trucking, Exploits Engineering Consultants Ltd., Fougere Menchenton Architecture Inc., Graybar Canada, Jungle Jim's Eatery (Grand Falls-Windsor), Killick Health Services, Labatt, Springdale Home Hardware/Eastern Analytical, Superior Glove Works Ltd., Team Leasing Group, and Trane.

Thank you to those businesses that offered up prizes for our event. We had an amazing $5,510 in prizes donated. Not to mention food and beverages to help fuel and hydrate our golfers: Action Car and Truck, Artlin Safety & Industrial, B & K Carpet, Badger Diner, Breeze’s Barber Shop, Browning Harvey, CBDC Emerald, Canadian Tire, CarQuest, Central Kia, Cohen’s Home Furnishings, Colonial Auto Parts, Newfoundland and Labrador Credit Union, Dicks & Company, Dominion, Exploits Home Hardware, First Choice Vision Centre, Frito Lay, Gentleman B, Grand Falls Golf Club., Headquarters Salon, Grand Toyota, Hickman Honda, Howlett’s Optical, Jungle Jim’s Eatery, Labatt, McLoughlan Supplies Ltd., Mount Peyton Hotel, Precision Collision, Riverview Motors, Rumors Spa & Salon, Sharron’s Sales and Service, Sobey’s Store, Sobey’s Wholesale, Sport Chek, Stagg Signs, Steele Hyundai, TnT Consign, Tim Horton’s/Sutherland Investments, The Car Spa, United Rentals and Vogue Optical.

And our event would not be as successful as it was without partners like the Grand Falls Golf Club, the Maintenance staff at CNRHC and 14 volunteers who included Board members Jennifer Whelan and Dianne Minhas. Our volunteers included: Stephanie Boone, Harold Butt, Brenda Cooper, Marie Hawkins, Hayley Head (summer student with the Central Northeast Health Foundation) Phil and Lorraine Haynes, Angela Decker, Donnie Murray, Olivia Organ, Courtney Stoyles (Executive Director of the Central Northeast Health Foundation) and Mondella Winsor. We would also like to thank Fred Pretty; local paramedic, photographer, and TC Advanced Drone Pilot, who donated a beautiful photograph of a sunrise over Gorge Park in Grand Falls-Windsor as the takeaway gift for our golfers and volunteers.

Last but not least, I have to give a shout out to our staff, Community Development Officer Jenna Budgell and summer student Ethan Lane, who were instrumental in preparing, organizing and making everything for golf day run smoothly. It really does take a village to make this event a success. Our proceeds will be used to replace all Cardiac Crash Carts at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre as well as those at all the rural health centres in the south and central region.

Thank you everyone
