Treatment at Hope Valley Centre is aimed at creating opportunities for young people to experience positive awareness of themselves and a sense of belonging. The establishment of healthy social interactions and behaviours is supported and encouraged to promote overall mental wellness and freedom from substance use.

There is generous availability of indoor and outdoor space for leisure and recreational activities.  And spending time outside in nature, relaxing, partaking in exercise or gardening are ways that can help propel the recovery process along.

Hope Valley Centre opened in 2014, yet its undeveloped backyard space has the potential to enhance and add to a youth’s treatment plan.  The creation of this Mindful Outdoor Space includes expanding their Green Thumb Gardening Program to include root vegetables, fruit-bearing trees, berry bushes and a herb garden; in addition to creating spaces for leisure and recreational activities. All of these individual spaces would be connected by pathways with solar lighting and flower gardens.

Every dollar donated to this project will be used to fill the garden with raised garden beds, a greenhouse, bench seating, picnic tables, a gazebo, a fire pit area, as well as a basketball court.
